UPDATE…UPDATE!!!

Well – As many of you may know – the Tarkoff family has moved to a new location!  After 20 years at 2121 Robin Drive we have finally moved closer to Bruce’s work. At last timing his commute is now 18 minutes. So this new/old house is a lot different. Built in 1940 – it is a beautiful old stone colonial located in Drexel Hill Pennsylvania. For 20 years we drove really far to reach all of our favorite activities like the Phillies and local Philadelphia theater. Well, now we can reach just about anywhere – except my hometown of Bethlehem, PA in less than 30 minutes. I can walk or bike to places like the post office and local merchants. So, I really like that a lot. But, mostly, this is a new adventure for us, cuz we spent 20 years raising Mike and Nicole in the far Northern suburbs of Philadelphia – which was so perfect for us and we are so fortunate to have had such a wonderful 20 years. But, now we are moving on – and Bruce, Mike, Nicole and I are enjoying our new home and hoping you all get a chance to visit!

The Tarkoff Design Story

I founded Tarkoff Design in 1996 after a few years designing in the corporate arena for places like Nutri/System, Mercer Consulting and Penn Mutual Life Insurance. Always a solopreneur, I spent  years implementing graphic design assignments for large companies and corporations. Now, my passion lies with helping small- and medium-size businesses. Tarkoff Design is the inevitable result of my graphic design experience, as I love collaborating with my clients and finding their own, individual, scream-it-out loud brand.

Each and every day is an opportunity for me to “study” design. Observing color and composition in nature, fashion, art, and just plain old every day life are my inspirations for great graphic design. Formally, I graduated with a degree in painting and drawing from Temple University Tyler School of Art. The apogee of my formal education was spending a semester abroad in Italy at Tyler’s Rome Campus—it was an experience that forever influenced my objectives and goals for useful design.

Christina’ Story…

♥ ♥ ♥ I have an amazing family which includes my husband – Bruce, my son – Michael  (a recent college grad), my daughter – Nicole (a college sophomore), my parents, friends, and a crazy number of aunts, uncles and cousins.  And, my special baby…10 year-old Louie (the best dog in the world) .

  • I read . . . alot. But, no matter how many authors I read, no one comes close to Victor Hugo and his fiercly french Les Miserables.

  • A recent read is “Kitchen House” – an absolutely wonderful historical novel by an amazing first-novel author.

The Kitchen House

  • Admittedly, I am a fitness and heathly-food guru. I can’t help it!
  • Our first home-grown tomato of the 2011 season. Kind of weird!!! Is this a new variety? I’m gonna save the seeds!!!

  • I had to leave this rain barrel at our Bucks County house – so next spring I’ll have to hunt down a new one!

I also walk . . . alot. Annually, I am a “Walker” for the Susan G. Koman 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk – which is 60 miles in three days. I have steep fundraising goals, so please go to the website – and….donate!  Fundraising is alot of work, but it’s worth it for this amazing cause that will one day help eliminate breast cancer.
